Hilton Head in the Distance

Lemon Island is between the Broad River and the Chechessee River about 12 miles inland from Hilton Head. It is quiet on Lemon Island and it seems to be a million miles away front he tourist attractions of Hilton Head. This cedar died around 1998 when after a spring tide saturated the soil with salt water. It is still one of my favorite trees on earth.

Bluffton, South Carolina Church of the Cross

Church of The Cross, Bluffton, South Carolina just before Easter Sunday 2005. The Bluffton Oyster Company is just upstream from here on the May River.

Chechessee River at Lemon Island Bridge

In the distance, the Lemon Island sandbar is sinking as the tide rolls in. September is quiet on the Chechessee River. From May through August, the sandbar is packed with boats. One of my favorite spots to take pictures is from the Chechessee River bridge on the east side looking northwest. Today the clouds lined-up and were picture perfect. The Lowcountry is the prettiest place on earth.
